Mass Market Retailers names Dollar General as its Retailer of the Year

Dollar General is proud to announce that Mass Market Retailers (MMR) magazine recently named the Company as its 2019 Retailer of the Year in recognition of the Company’s ongoing success in growing its store base, its sales and its profits.

During 2019, Dollar General not only celebrated its 80th anniversary, it also cut the grand opening ribbon on its 16,000th store in a community devastated by Hurricane Michael in 2018, all while remaining strongly dedicated to its mission of Serving Others. 

This achievement additionally honors the hard work and commitment of approximately143,000 Dollar General employees across 44 states in more than 16,100 stores, 17 traditional and four DG Fresh distribution centers and our Store Support Center. This recognition also exemplifies the dedication of our employees have to our mission of Serving Others while working together toward the common goal of keeping the customer at the center of everything we do.
