As the June 2019 double issue of Fortune magazine hits newsstands this week, readers will not only see Dollar General’s current #119 placement prominently displayed on the cover, but also a full-length story on the Company in the issue. Authored by Phil Wahba, the story covers Dollar General’s history and evolution over the past eight decades, as well as current key initiatives.

Earlier this month, Fortune visited Dollar General’s store #12365 in Bertram, Texas for in-store photography to accompany the story.  The local field operations team, which includes store manager Monica Musule, graciously hosted both the photographers and area customers during the photo shoot.
