Dollar General Now Offers Western Union® Money Transfer Service

Dollar General and Western Union announced today that customers are now able to complete Western Union® money transfers at more than 15,400 Dollar General locations across 44 states.
Through this partnership, customers may initiate international and domestic money transfers digitally through the Western Union® mobile app or by visiting westernunion.com, and then pay in person at Dollar General locations. Consumers may also receive money transfers in-store.
 
“Dollar General is excited to work with Western Union to help provide value and convenience when customers send or receive money transfers,” said Jason Reiser, Dollar General’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. “With approximately 75 percent of the American population within a five-mile radius of a Dollar General, we are uniquely positioned to provide customers with a convenient location to complete their money transfer transactions.”

How can Dollar General customers send funds through Western Union?
Customers may digitally initiate transactions in one of two ways either through the Western Union® mobile application or online at www.westernunion.com. After completing the digital portion of the transaction, consumers may visit their local Dollar General store to finalize their transfer using a PIN debit card or cash.  Click here for the Dollar General store locator.
 
How can customers receive funds?
Customers receiving Western Union® money transfers can use the Western Union® mobile application and select the “Pick Up Cash” option.  After following the prompts to complete the pre-staging process, customers can visit their local Dollar General with a valid ID and their Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). Click here for the Dollar General store locator.
