Dollar General Celebrates 500th Store in Michigan

On November 17, 2018, Dollar General marked a growth milestone with the grand opening of its 500th store in the Great Lakes State at 3245 Lewis Ave. in Ida. Dollar General opened its first Michigan location in June 2000 and continues to provide value and convenience to Michiganders through its 500 stores in the state. 

“Dollar General is elated to celebrate the milestone opening of our 500th store in Michigan. With its nearly two-decade history in Michigan, Dollar General remains committed to delivering a satisfying shopping experience that includes a convenient location, a wide assortment of merchandise and great prices on quality products,” said Dan Nieser, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. “We hope our Michigan customers will enjoy shopping at Dollar General’s new location.”

Dollar General celebrated the store’s official grand opening with free prizes and special deals. The State of Michigan paid special tribute to the 500th Michigan location with the presentation of a commemorative plaque for the store.
