Award Showcases Those Driving Inclusion Within the Workplace
Involve recently named Shareeka Meadows, DG’s vice president and divisional merchandising manager of apparel, among their 2022 Empower Future Leaders Role Model List.
“Thank you to INvolve for showcasing and recognizing Shareeka’s impactful work to drive inclusion at Dollar General,” said Dr. Johné Battle, vice president of diversity and inclusion at Dollar General. “Shareeka continues to be instrumental as president of our African American employee resource group, and her influence and leadership across the business and her passion for promoting Dollar General’s diversity and inclusion efforts throughout our organization and her community are strong. She leads by example and inspires others.”
The Empower Role Model Lists aim to spotlight individuals who are driving inclusion in business outside of their main job role.
Meadows serves as president of DG’s African-American Employee Resource Group (AAERG), launched on the guiding principle that inclusion enhances DG’s culture, enables growth, and is critical to continued success. She is also a member of DG’s Diversity and Inclusion Council, responsible for ensuring the Company invests in its diverse teams through development, empowerment and inclusion.
