Retail TouchPoints Names Allen Warch a 2024 Retail Innovator

Dollar General is pleased to announce that Allen Warch, vice president, division merchandise manager, has been recognized by Retail TouchPoints as a Retail Innovator, highlighting DG’s partnership with the new AI tool, Shelf Engine.

With extensive experience in fresh produce procurement and merchandising, Warch led DG’s nationwide rollout and partnership with Shelf Engine – an automated AI produce ordering technology – to provide DG customers with more access to fresh food, reaffirming the Company’s commitment to addressing food insecurity across the country.

The AI-driven platform is designed to forecast and generate orders with a goal of optimizing in-stock levels that directly contribute to providing customers with the freshest food possible. Warch and his team worked closely with Shelf Engine to further tailor its technology and provide expert resources, problem solving, analysis and other tools needed to execute a high-volume produce expansion at a more optimized pace.
