Progressive Grocer Names Emily Taylor an Honoree of the 2024 Top Women in Grocery Awards

Dollar General’s Executive Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer, Honored for Innovative Contributions to the Food Retail Industry



Dollar General is delighted to announce Emily Taylor, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, has been selected by Progressive Grocer as a 2024 Top Woman in Grocery in the Senior-Level Executives category. Emily joined Dollar General in 1998 and was named to her current role in 2020. She leads Dollar General’s merchandising, marketing, global sourcing, digital, merchandise operations, customer insights, channel innovation and in-store experience efforts.

Recently, Emily fostered progressive changes to the Company’s DG Market stores by debuting ‘Beauty Reinvention,’ further expanded DG’s private brand Clover Valley through a ‘Food First’ initiative, and evolved the Dollar General Media Network (DGMN).  Emily and her team have also spearheaded the expansion of DG’s in-store fresh produce, achieving a milestone of more than 5,000 stores with the offering. Through her long-standing leadership, she implements a strategic vision to help Dollar General continue to innovate, capture growth opportunities and serve customers.

The prestigious Top Women in Grocery program has awarded talented individuals for over 18 years with chosen women serving as inspiring role models, supporting the community through their work and exceeding expectations within their role. The award recognizes trail blazers in the food retail and grocery industries.
