North Dakota, here we come!

Dollar General recently announced the construction of  five new stores  the Peace Garden state and plans to make it the  44th state Dollar General calls home.  The stores are expected to celebrate their grand openings in spring 2017.

“Expanding our footprint into North Dakota provides Dollar General an opportunity to not only deliver value and convenience to additional customers in the upper Midwest, but to also serve communities through our mission of Serving Others,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief executive officer. “Meeting our customers’ needs is our top priority when choosing store locations and we look forward to being a long-standing business partner in the state, as well as welcoming new customers into our stores when these projects are completed next spring.”

The new stores will offer customers a traditional Dollar General store format, designed to make checking out faster during those frigid cold days, with seasonal products displayed at the center of the store and visible signage and coolers conveniently located at the front of the store.

Stores are currently under construction in the following locations:
  • Highway One at Cedar Street in Oakes, North Dakota (Dickey County)
  • 705 First Avenue South in Ellendale, North Dakota (Dickey County)
  • 601 Sixth Street Southeast in Hankinson, North Dakota (Richland County)
  • 507 West Caledonia in Hillsboro, North Dakota (Traill County)
  • 8179 Highway 32 in Gwinner, North Dakota (Sargent County)

Dollar General has identified additional store locations in North Dakota, but have not committed to moving forward on those projects yet. Construction on the five new stores began in summer 2016.
