Meet Dollar General’s Biggest Fan!

Sep 07, 2016

It's not every day you get the chance to meet your biggest fan, but the employees and customers from Dollar General Store #16670 in Dryden, Michigan had that chance at their recent grand opening.

Dollar General would like to introduce Jackson A., Dollar General's BIGGEST FAN!

Jackson is a 13-year-old autistic child whose father called to ask if he could attend the grand opening of new store #16670 in Dryden, Michigan. His father said that Jackson is "very passionate" about Dollar General and went to the store location site every day while it was under construction to take pictures and monitor its progress.

So, Dollar General surprised him by making him an honorary employee for the day. Our marketing team sent Jackson a DG t-shirt and his own name badge for the event. During his visit to the grand opening, the store team and District Manager Rob Kless really stepped up to make this day very memorable.

"It was a very special day, indeed," stated District Manager Rob Kless. "We have a mission statement of Serving Others, and we need to look for chances to model this statement. This grand opening was our opportunity to impact Jackson and thank him for his commitment to being a Dollar General customer. And the impact he made on me and the store team is hard to describe. We are honored to be in this community and have Jackson as a customer."

DG agrees! It is our commitment to every customer to make their day special and thank them for choosing us. Thank you to the team at Store #16670 for your service and commitment to making a difference! You have made our day as well!
