From the Cockpit:
Matt Kenseth: “Talladega is one of those places where it’s a restrictor plate race so you’re going to hopefully be in the front sometimes and you’ll probably be in the back sometimes as well since there’s so much shuffling of positions.  Qualifying is not as important there as other places, but you still want to try to get a pole if you can and try to get that first pit stall.  I think that qualifying this weekend will be crazy, unorganized and chaotic.  Everybody is going to have different plans and everybody is going to want to be the guy catching the pack.  I’m sure our plan will change even as we get ready for qualifying, but everybody is going to try to figure out how to get that one good lap.”

From the Pit Box:
Jason Ratcliff: “I’m actually almost speechless thinking about how this group qualifying session is going to play out at Talladega this weekend.  It could get extremely exciting, because the one thing we know is to go fast at Talladega, you need a group of cars.  I think that everyone is not really going to want to go in a big pack because it could get really risky, but at the same time if you want to qualify well, that’s what you’re going to have to do.  We’ve been pretty fortunate and competitive at these speedway races recently and I feel like we’ve got a really good car heading into this week.  We’re going to be smart because we don’t want to tear up a good race car before Sunday, but we also want to get a good pit stall and qualify well.”
