Dolly Parton Debuts New Rockstar Album at DG

Dolly Parton is no stranger at Dollar General. This summer, the Company surprised Parton at DG’s Field Leadership Meeting by announcing a $1 million DG Literacy Foundation grant to her nonprofit organization,Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library®. More recently, Parton again connected with the DG team, visiting a store to debut her latest album, greeting employees, and posing for a few photos and videos.

“I’m so excited to finally present my first Rock and Roll album Rockstar!" Dolly shared. "I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time and to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album was a joy beyond measure. I hope everybody enjoys the album as much as I’ve enjoyed putting it together!”

Parton joined forces with some of rock music’s most legendary artists along with today’s biggest stars for her first-ever rock album. “Rockstar” is Parton’s 49th solo studio album and features a limited edition, two-disc CD with 30 tracks and three bonus songs.

The album includes collaborations between Parton and other musicians for remakes of popular songs including Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me featuring Elton John, Let It Be featuring Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr with special guests Peter Frampton and Mick Fleetwood, and (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction featuring P!nk and Brandi Carlile for a total of 21 iconic rock anthems.

Rockstar is now available at Dollar General stores and retails for $19.95.
