GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (May 21, 2012) – Dollar General is pleased to announce that Gayle Aertker, senior vice president of real estate and store development, has been appointed as the International Council of Shopping Centers’ (ICSC) Tennessee retail chair.

In her new volunteer role as Tennessee retail chair, Aertker will serve as the voice of the retail community within the ICSC. Her duties include identifying the needs of the retail sector of the industry and helping develop special programs exclusive to the retail community.

Aertker has been a member of the ICSC since 1978. She has served on the Board of Trustees, Sustainability Committee and participates in the annual mentoring program.
Aertker joined Dollar General in 2006 and currently serves as the company’s senior vice president of real estate and store development. Aertker’s career in real estate acquisition and development spans over 30 years. She has held corporate real estate executive positions with Fortune 500 retail companies including Office Depot, Toys “R” Us and Price Club (Costco) and also holds a CCIM designation.
