Dec 19, 2019
In the spirit of the holiday season and Dollar General’s mission of Serving Others, the Company is spreading the holiday cheer through the donation of $600,000.
Throughout November and December, Dollar General plans to surprise 51 local schools or school districts in the communities it calls home with approximately $10,000 each to support literacy and education initiatives. Each of the schools may use the funds at their discretion to support their respective missions by purchasing books, technology programs and/or other educational supplies or resources. Dollar General’s community outreach centers around literacy and education.
In addition to donations to community schools and libraries, Dollar General also plans to donate approximately $200,000 total to the St. Jude’s Thanks and Giving® campaign and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation with each organization receiving $100,000.
