Dollar General Sends Supplies to Haiti
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (February 23, 2010) – In response to the ongoing demand for basic necessities in Haiti, Dollar General Corporation (NYSE:DG) is providing additional supplies to aid the earthquake recovery effort.  Together with its vendor partner Rockline, Dollar General is donating 35,000 packages of DG Baby® baby wipes. Feed the Children organization will deliver the supplies to Haiti.
“We are pleased to work with our partner Rockline Industries to provide baby wipes for the recovery effort in Haiti,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s chief merchandising officer. “We hope these supplies will help Haitians as they rebuild their lives.”
In addition to the product donation, Dollar General has given $100,000 to the International Red Cross for relief in Haiti, and, through in-store fundraising, Dollar General customers have contributed more than $500,000.
