Dollar General Responds to Devastating Tornadoes with $100,000 Gift

Funds Will Go to the American Red Cross for Disaster Recovery

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (BUSINESS WIRE), May 02, 2011 - In response to devastating tornadoes that overwhelmed entire communities in several southern states, Dollar General Corporation today announced that it will support recovery efforts with a gift of $100,000 to the American Red Cross.

“While the storms have passed, the suffering has not. Our neighbors need support to recover their homes and get back to their normal lives,” said Rick Dreiling, chairman and CEO. “This gift is a gesture of solidarity on behalf of our employees throughout the country as we all work together to help these communities get back on their feet.”
