Dollar General Recognizes Employees and Veterans
Nov 13, 2019
This Veterans Day, Dollar General demonstrated the Company’s sincere gratitude and appreciation for employees who served our country. In keeping with Dollar General’s mission of Serving Others, we recognized our veterans from across the organization for their service and sacrifice to our country with a specialized badge that proudly showcases their military service. Adorned with camo and the Dollar General veteran emblem, the badge recognizes and shows gratitude for employees who have served or continue to serve in our armed services.
Additionally, our military employee resource group (SERVE) hosted a Veterans Day lunch, featuring Lt. Col Bo “Guvner” McGowan. Employees were encouraged to bring a veteran family member or friend to the speaker session and enjoy lunch together. At Dollar General, we continually strive to support and show appreciation to those who have served and continue to serve our country. Our engagement with the military community includes exclusive discounts to active military, veterans and their immediate family members, outreach with military communities through our military employee resource group (SERVE), the founding of the Paychecks for Patriots program that supports veterans’ transition to civilian life through meaningful employment opportunities and much more.
