Dollar General Plans to Create up to 4,000 Jobs

New jobs include both corporate and retailpositions

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn., Apr 01, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- On the heels of reporting record sales and operating profit for its fiscal 2008, Dollar General today announced plans to create up to 4,000 jobs in 2009 to support the company's plans to open 450 new stores.

The nation's largest retailer by number of company-owned locations, Dollar General will be adding jobs throughout the 35 states in which it currently operates to complement and sustain the more than 72,000 employees who either work in or support the 8,400-store chain.
