Dollar General Opens 84 Stores in March

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn., April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dollar General (NYSE: DG) reports opening 84 stores in the five-week period ended April 4, 2003. With these additional stores, as of April 4, 2003, the Company operated 6,273 stores.

The 84 newest store locations include 15 in Alabama; one in Arkansas; four in Florida; five in Georgia; one in Illinois; four in Indiana; one in Iowa; six in Louisiana; seven in Michigan; five in Mississippi; three in Missouri; two in North Carolina; one in Nebraska; four in New York; three in Ohio; three in Oklahoma; five in Pennsylvania; one in South Carolina; one in Tennessee; 10 in Texas; and two in West Virginia.
