GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) reports opening 78 stores in the four-week period ended October 31, 2003. With these additional stores, as of October 31, 2003, the Company operated 6,653 stores.
The 78 newest store locations include six in Alabama; eight in Florida; seven in Georgia; three in Illinois; five in Indiana; three in Iowa; one in Kansas; one in Kentucky; four in Louisiana; five in Michigan; three in Mississippi; two in Missouri; three in New York; five in North Carolina; four in Ohio; five in Pennsylvania; two in South Carolina; one in Tennessee; seven in Texas; two in Virginia; and one in West Virginia.
