Dollar General Offers 10 Percent Discount on Toy Purchases over $75

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (BUSINESS WIRE), September 27, 2012 - Shoppers at Dollar General (NYSE: DG) will save more money on toys this holiday season. Dollar General is offering a 10 percent discount on toy purchases of $75 or more. The discount will be available in all of Dollar General’s 10,000 stores, Sept. 29 – Dec. 24, 2012.
“Dollar General is committed to helping customers stretch their holiday budgets, and one way we are doing this is with the holiday toy discount,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s executive vice president, division president and chief merchandising officer. “Toys are at the top of many shopping lists, so we’re happy to help shoppers save more on these purchases and delight children with our great products.”
Dollar General has added more licensed and branded items to its holiday toy offering, including hot toys from Mattel®, Disney® and Hasbro®. The discount retailer also offers a wide selection of $5 and $10 toys.
“The 10 percent toy discount is also geared toward our nonprofit organizations to help them with their annual toy drives,” said Vasos.
A longtime supporter of Toys for Tots and local toy drives, Dollar General will host in-store toy drives to benefit children in the communities it serves and donate $100,000 to Toys for Tots.
