Dollar General Named Among Most Reputable Companies on Axios Harris Poll 100

May 26, 2021

Dollar General is proud to announce it was recently named among the country’s most reputable companies as part of the 2021 Axios-Harris Poll 100, as well as moving up 19 spots from 2020.  Released annually, the Axios Harris Poll ranks the reputations of the 100 most visible U.S. companies.

The Axios Harris Poll 100 is based on a survey of 42,935 Americans in a nationally-representative sample. The two-step process starts fresh each year by surveying the public’s top-of-mind awareness of companies that either excel or falter in society. These 100 “most visible companies” are then ranked across the seven key dimensions of reputation, including vision, growth, products/services, trust, culture, ethics and citizenship. The Harris Poll - a Stagwell agency – has been conducting the annual assessment since 1999 with 2021 marking the 22nd annual Reputation Quotient study.

“With the end of the pandemic in the U.S. in sight, this year’s Axios Harris Poll 100 reflects how we have evolved far beyond business as usual,” said Mark Penn, chairman of The Harris Poll. “Today’s consumer is more digitally connected and more purpose-driven than ever, and that dramatically affects what it takes to excel in marketing, communications and reputation.”

Dollar General’s increased score was driven by improvements in seven reputation attributes including trust, vision, culture, growth, products and services, ethics and citizenship.
