Dollar General Literacy Foundation Launches Third Annual The Yellow Glasses Project

Newly-Designed Glasses Support Literacy to Build Brighter Futures

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation is thrilled to launch the third annual The Yellow Glasses Project. While supplies last, customers can purchase a newly-designed pair of Yellow Glasses for $2 each to support local literacy and education initiatives at more than 18,000 Dollar General stores in 47 states. Each Yellow Glasses purchase provides 100 percent of the proceeds directly to the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
 
The Yellow Glasses Project is a program of the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. It is an aimed at reframing the discussion of literacy and shining a light on how literacy has the ability to open doorways to new opportunities.
 
Dollar General shoppers are encouraged to help ‘shine the light on literacy’ by posting photos of themselves sporting their Yellow Glasses, tagging @TheYellowGlassesProject on FacebookInstagram and @DGYellowGlasses on Twitter, and by utilizing the hashtags #TheYellowGlassesProject and #ShineBrighter in their posts. Additionally, The Yellow Glasses Project social media accounts plan to conduct multiple giveaways to further generate awareness of the campaign’s mission.
