Dollar General Donates $125,000 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation; Dollar General Stores also will be Collecting Toys for Distribution to Local Families and Children in Need

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 2, 2005--Dollar General Corporation (NYSE:DG) will be making holiday dreams come true for children and families in need as a national corporate sponsor of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Dollar General donated $125,000 to the foundation and will be collecting toys in most of its stores.

Dollar General stores in 31 states will be accepting toy donations until December 18 for Toys for Tots or a similar community-based non-profit organization. Customers can drop off gifts at their nearest Dollar General store, and the toys will then be distributed to local families in need.
