Events Planned for September 12 – 18 Aim to Recognize and Show Gratitude to DG Private Fleet and Carrier Drivers
Dollar General is celebrating National Truck Driver Appreciation week by demonstrating its gratitude to all DG Private Fleet and carrier partner drivers.
“We applaud our DG Private Fleet drivers for their efforts, dedication and commitment to our stores and for playing a critical role in ensuring customers find the products they need at their local store,” said Tony Zuazo, Dollar General’s executive vice president of global supply chain. “We are proud to recognize the DG Private Fleet and our carrier partners as part of this year’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week and greatly appreciate all that they do.”
Dollar General is marking the week with daily activities including complimentary lunches, as well as giveaways and prize drawings for all DG Private Fleet employees. Drivers also will be recognized for demonstrating excellence through DG Elite nominations, which recognize the advancement of one or more Dollar General key operating priorities while also being safe.
Celebrated annually, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week recognizes the millions of professional truck drivers who deliver America’s freight safely and securely every day.
HOW TO JOIN THE DG PRIVATE FLEET TEAM
Dollar General is currently recruiting new drivers to join its DG Private Fleet, offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to drivers with an active Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) hired now through January 28, 2022 to be paid within the employees’ first six months of service. Additional bonus opportunities are also available, including referral, performance and retention bonuses.
Dollar General also recently announced a new initiative allowing drivers to bring one ‘co-pilot,’ a vaccinated dog or cat of eligible breed, along with them on the road.
DG Private Fleet drivers can earn a competitive mileage-based pay, unload pay and annual bonus opportunities. Dollar General is also a GI Bill certified employer with an internal, Company-paid Class A CDL training program available for warehouse and store employees. Candidates may text DGFLEET to 25000 for more information.
