Major retailer provides 11 percent off purchases online and in more than 12,000 locations
Goodlettsville, Tennessee – (November 4, 2015) – This Veterans Day, Dollar General will offer active duty service members, veterans and their family members a special 11 percent discount on all qualifying purchases made in store and online as a way to recognize and celebrate their service. Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11, 2015.“Dollar General is honored to recognize our military and their families this Veterans Day by offering special savings to those who have served and continue to serve our country,” said Jim Thorpe, Dollar General’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. “We are pleased to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of our service members through additional discounts on a variety of everyday essential items.”
In addition to savings for Veterans Day, Dollar General is proud to be a part of Paychecks for Patriots, an innovative partnership between state governments and employers to address veteran and National Guard unemployment challenges. This successful program was created by Dollar General in partnership with state employment agencies to create a pathway toward economic opportunity for veterans and their families both online and through hiring events.
