Goodlettsville, Tennessee – August 26, 2020 – This morning, Dollar General announced a $5 million donation to the Dollar General Employee Assistance Foundation to help commemorate the nonprofit’s 15th anniversary.
“While we hope our fellow employees never experience difficult times and need support from the Employee Assistance Foundation, we are glad we can offer much-needed assistance in those instances,” said Denine Torr, Dollar General’s senior director of community initiatives. “For 15 years, the Employee Assistance Foundation has extended hope and help to members of our Dollar General family, and this generous gift will help the Foundation uplift and support more of our co-workers during difficult times.”
Founded in 2005, the Dollar General Employee Assistance Foundation (DGEAF) provides financial assistance to help employees during their time of need. Areas of support include assistance with funeral expenses after the loss of a family member and with the recovery process following home damage caused by natural disaster or fire. Since 2005, the DGEAF has awarded more than $10 million to help more than 6,200 Dollar General employees.
