Goodlettsville, Tennessee – August 5, 2020 – This morning, Dollar General announced the official grand opening of its newest DG Fresh cold storage facility in Montgomery, Alabama in partnership with state and local representatives. Honored guests who participanted in the virtual event included Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, Department of Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield, Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed, Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean and Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman Arthur DuCote.
“We are excited to celebrate the grand opening of our newest DG Fresh facility as we grow career opportunities and our distribution center presence in Alabama,” said Rod West, Dollar General’s vice president of perishables growth and development. “We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support from both state and local officials who helped make this project happen. Our Montgomery DG Fresh facility will allow us the opportunity to better serve our surrounding stores and communities with the quality products at affordable prices that customers depend on us to carry. We are equally excited to welcome employees to the Dollar General family.”

At full capacity, the facility will create approximately 65 new career opportunities. Interested applicants may review and apply for available positions at www.dollargeneral.com/careers. Dollar General is proud to invest in its employees as a competitive advantage and provides employees with competitive wages, world-class and award-winning training and development programs and benefits including day-one telemedicine eligibility and Dollar General’s Employee Assistance Foundation, as well as health insurance coverage options, 401K savings and retirement plans, tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave and adoption assistance to eligible employees.
