Dollar General Celebrates Bethel, PA Distribution Center's 10-Year Anniversary

Dollar General recently celebrated its Bethel, Pennsylvania distribution center's 10-year anniversary with the facility's employees and the Company's leadership.

“This year marks an exciting milestone with our Bethel employees and the Berks County community,” shared Rod West, Dollar General’s executive vice president and vice president of global supply chain. “Dollar General appreciates our Bethel teams who exemplify our mission of Serving Others to provide customers with the products they need and expect from us, and we are grateful for our efforts during the last decade that have enabled our ability to support our store colleagues. We look forward to continuing our community collaboration in Berks County."


Bethel educators and city officials recieve donation to support community literacy intiatives in May 2014.

The Bethel distribution center opened in 2014, currently employs more than 650 DG family members and supports more than 1,000 stores in the northeast and Midwest. The more than 930,000 square feet building represented an approximate $100 million investment. 

Josh Engle, Bethel's assistant director of operations, has been with the Company since the distribution center opened and highlighted his career growth. 

“DG gave me the opportunity to turn a job into a career,” shared Josh. “Since joining, DG has provided me with specialized training and experiences that helped me grow and advance myself professionally. It is a pleasure to work for a company that values their employees. It creates an environment that has a lot of opportunities for growth."

Josh added, “DG has provided many job opportunities for Bethel and the surrounding communities. Additionally, the Company has made donations to local schools and food outreach programs to further demonstrate our mission and its positive impact on employees, customers and our community." 

Dollar General currently operates 31 distribution centers including traditional, DG Fresh, dual and regional hub facilities.
