Dollar General Begins Hiring at Jonesville, SC Distribution Center Retailer to employ 525 in Union County

GOODLETTSVILLE, TENN. (January 26, 2005)-- Dollar General, one of the country's fastest-growing retailers, is kicking off the hiring process for 525 jobs at its new distribution center in Jonesville, S.C. on Monday, January 31.

Jobseekers may apply for the jobs online at www.sctechjobs.com, or in person at the Union National Guard Armory, 165 Industrial Park Road in Union, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., January 31 - February 3. Applicants may also apply at their local workforce centers throughout the state during the application period. After that, applications will only be available at local workforce centers.

Dollar General will begin scheduling interviews immediately for approximately 125 receiving positions and will conduct them the week of February 21 through February 25. The company will interview for an estimated 350 shipping positions April 4 - April 8. Only one application is necessary to be considered for both receiving and shipping positions.

Positions available include material and non-material handling positions such as lift equipment operators, receiving unloaders and office clerks. On-the-job training will be provided. The distribution center is expected to open in late spring.
