Dollar General Announces Charitable Partnerships This Holiday Season

Major retailer furthers mission of Serving Others by partnering with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation and local toy drives
Goodlettsville, Tenn. (November 11, 2015) – In keeping with its mission of Serving Others, Dollar General will kick off its annual holiday campaign this Friday, Nov. 13 benefitting the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots, community toy drives and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Thanks and Giving® campaign. Dollar General will also donate $175,000 to further these organizations’ efforts while giving customers an opportunity to give back this holiday season at more than 12,000 Dollar General locations across 43 states served by the discount retailer.“In the spirit of giving this holiday season and our mission of Serving Others, Dollar General is excited to partner again with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and local toy drives across the 43 states Dollar General serves,” said Todd Vasos, Dollar General’s CEO. “We have a strong commitment to serve our communities throughout the year, but especially during the holidays to help make a real impact.”
Collections to benefit the Toys for Tots campaign and additional local toy drives will conclude on Dec. 10. Dollar General carries a large selection of licensed products from top name brands including STAR WARS©, Mattel®, Fisher Price®, Hasbro®, Disney®, Nickelodeon®, Marvel® and more. To make a larger impact this season, customers may also take advantage of a 25 percent discount on all qualifying toy purchases of $75 or more.
For the tenth consecutive year, Dollar General will support the St. Jude Thanks and Giving® campaign. From Nov. 13 through Dec. 13, customers may donate $1 or more at check-out to benefit the children of St. Jude. Since 2006, Dollar General and its customers have supported St. Jude by contributing more than $12.5 million to the Thanks and Giving® campaign. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the global leader in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other deadly diseases. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food because St. Jude believes all a family should worry about is helping their child receive the best care possible.
