Dollar General Announces Call for Diverse Suppliers

Goodlettsville, Tennessee – August 12, 2024 – As part of Dollar General’s ongoing supplier diversity efforts, the Company today announced a call for diverse merchandise suppliers.  Eligible vendors are encouraged to complete an online application here now through end of day on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Virtual meetings with Dollar General’s supplier diversity team will be held during the week of October 14, 2024.

 

“With more than 20,000 stores across 48 states, we believe our intentional supplier diversity program allows us to collaborate with new vendors to serve our customers and communities with the relevant products they trust us to provide their families,” said Emily Taylor, Dollar General’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer.  “We are proud of our efforts to date and look forward to identifying new suppliers through this process.”

 

Eligible suppliers must be at least 51% owned/operated by a U.S. citizen who qualifies as a minority, woman, LBGTQIA+, veteran or disable, hold at least one of the following diversity certifications and have not sold products to Dollar General within the past 18 months.

 

Eligible Diversity Certifications

·       National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)

·       Women’s Business Enterprise (WBENC)

·       National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)

·       National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA)

·       Disability: IN

 

To reinforce Dollar General’s commitment to ensuring an inclusive environment that facilitates participation in the Company’s procurement process, the Company also recently partnered with a third-party financial institution to implement tools that provide opportunities for qualified minority-owned businesses to access capital and accelerate cash flows.

 

Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing (ECRM) will notify selected companies by email with the time of their meeting by October 7, 2024.
