DGIT’s Samantha Simmons Named Emerging Leader of the Year

Nashville Tech Council Recognizes Top Talent in Middle Tennessee
Dollar General is proud to announce that Samantha Simmons, director of information technology business development, was awarded Emerging Leader of the Year by the Greater Nashville Technology Council during its 15th Annual NTC Awards.
“We are thrilled that Samantha was selected as this year’s Emerging Leader, highlighting the exceptional performance of our results driven DGIT team,” said Carman Wenkoff, executive vice president of information technology and chief information officer at Dollar General. “Her adaptability and creativity distinguish her in every endeavor she undertakes. We appreciate NTC’s judging panel for bestowing this recognition on Samantha and DGIT.”
Samantha joined Dollar General in 2019 as senior product owner, merchandising and marketing systems and over the past four years has held roles of increasing responsibility before being promoted to director in 2023. She leads a team of business consultants that support product managers and internal business units, promoting IT initiatives within the organization.
The Emerging Leader Award is presented to an individual who demonstrates excellence in delivering business results through others and are leaders in IT. The 2024 NTC Awards, a premiere annual event for the technology community in greater Nashville, was held February 29, 2024 and celebrated technology champions in fifteen categories with more than 160 technology companies and related organizations present.
