Employees Volunteer More than 500 Hours in June to Build Hope in Company's Hometown

At Dollar General, Serving Others means being there for our hometown communities, and Dollar General employees volunteered more than 500 hours this June to support Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville for the 16th consecutive year to help provide affordable homes to Nashvillians in need.

“Helping families realize their dreams of homeownership is heartwarming,” shared Denine Torr, Dollar General’s vice president of corporate social responsibility and philanthropy. “We are proud of our 16 years of partnership with Habitat in their mission to bring people together to build homes, communities and hope.”

This year, more than 80 employees from the Company’s Store Support Center in Goodlettsville, Tennessee volunteered to help Habitat construct homes in its newest single-family neighborhood, Village by the Creek in North Nashville.

Since 2007, Dollar General’s support of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville includes more than 2,500 volunteers and complimentary housewarming baskets filled with DG products to celebrate recipients’ new homeownership.

Habitat Humanity of Greater Nashville was established in 1985 and welcomed its 1,000th homeowner in December 2022, now serving more than 3,482 family members, including 2,183 children.
