DG’s Healthier Offerings
At Dollar General, we care about and are invested in the health of the communities we serve and continue to demonstrate that through healthier offerings in our stores, including produce in select locations.
Every Dollar General provides customers with components of a healthier diet such as milk, eggs, bread, cheese, frozen and canned vegetables, grains, lean proteins.
Dollar General’s “Better For You” program is also available at every store, which features on-shelf designations and online DG Better For You recipe options created by a registered nutritionist and dietician.
Dollar General’s produce set offers the top 20 items typically sold in traditional grocery stores, which includes a curated assortment of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, apples, bananas, strawberries. potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes, salad mixes and more.
As of March 2024, we currently offer produce in more than 5,400 stores with a meaningful number in USDA-defined food deserts, giving the Company more individual points of produce distribution than any other U.S. mass retailer or grocer.

DGX’s urban concept format was created for customers in metropolitan locations, providing both residential and commercial shoppers with a focused selection of consumable and instant consumption options.
DGX offers home cleaning supplies, an expanded selection of health and beauty products, home décor, electronics, seasonal products, pet supplies, candies and snacks, paper products and more. Plus, select DGX stores offer an assortment of fresh produce and coffee stations.
Mi Súper Dollar General opened its first location in Escobedo, Nuevo León, Mexico in March 2023, representing Dollar General’s first international expansion.
Mi Súper Dollar General stores offer customers affordable, everyday low prices in convenient store locations, which includes financial services, a bakery and tortilleria. Products are primarily sourced from Mexico and include fresh produce, health and beauty products, home cleaning supplies, pet care, housewares, stationary and other household essentials.
