Dollar General to Sponsor Sarah Fisher in Two Indycar Series Races

Sarah Fisher Racing's No.67 to Carry the Dollar General Banner at Kentucky and Chicagoland

INDIANAPOLIS — July 16, 2008 — Dollar General will be the primary sponsor of Sarah Fisher Racing's (SFR) No. 67 Honda powered Dallara for two upcoming races this year in the IndyCar Series. Driven by IndyCar Series veteran Sarah Fisher, the Dollar General car will make its IndyCar Series debut at Kentucky Speedway on August 9. Fisher will also race the Dollar General car at Chicagoland Speedway on September 7.

"Dollar General is excited about sponsoring Sarah Fisher Racing in these two races," said Rick Dreiling, Dollar General's CEO. "Sarah has had a remarkable history-making journey in IndyCar racing, which has inspired many, both in and outside of the sport."

This is Dollar General's first sponsorship in the IndyCar Series. The car is co-sponsored by Dollar General's vendor partners, Arm & Hammer, Band-Aid, Clorox, Colgate, Kraft, Lysol, Reese's and Slim Jim. Dollar General made its first foray into motorsports marketing in 2005 with a NASCAR Nationwide Series team sponsorship. The company has been a sponsor in the NASCAR series ever since. In the current season, Dollar General is partnering with Braun Racing to place star drivers in the Dollar General Nationwide Series car in select races.

Fisher is looking forward to returning to Kentucky Speedway where she owns the track qualifying record. At the track in 2002, she made history by becoming the first woman in North American motorsports history to win the pole position for a major-league open-wheel race.

"Dollar General's sponsorship of SFR for two races this year has energized my team. We're all excited to be racing for Dollar General," said Fisher, who made her seventh start in the Indianapolis 500 in May 2008. "It's great to return to Kentucky with my own team. I've done well there in the past, and I believe I can do just as well or better with my own team behind me. We're going to do our best to bring home a victory for the team and Dollar General."

SFR and Fisher plan to test the No. 67 Dollar General Honda powered Dallara prior to the Kentucky Speedway race weekend. Date and time of the testing will be announced at a later date.

Dollar General joins Direct Supply, Hartman Oil, AAA Hoosier Insurance and TAG Heuer in sponsoring SFR.

The Meijer Indy 300 presented by Pepsi and Edy's Ice Cream is the 14th race on the 2008 IndyCar Series schedule. The final evening race of the season will be at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Kentucky and shown live under the lights on ESPN2 in DirecTV HD at 6:30 p.m. EST.
